FAQs

Why has this website been set up?

In recent years there has been an explosion of medical related information on the internet. More recently this has been presented and tailored to Muslims. Some of the information is accurate, and some less so. As a Muslim doctor I felt that I had a duty to try to present accurate, easy to understand medical information to my brothers and sisters. This website is my attempt to do this.

How is the website organised?

There are two main components of the website:

Islamic Advice – This consists of statements of the scholars and explanations based upon the Qur’aan and Sunnah as related to medical issues.

Medical Information – This consists of articles which explain medical issues. I have tried to avoid bamboozling readers with complex jargon and ambiguous research, but instead hope to help them understand basic concepts clearly.

Can you answer a specific medical question about myself?

This website has been set up to provide general information on the internet. It is not meant for addressing specific queries which you may have about yourself. It would be more appropriate to direct such queries to your doctor who will be able to assess you fully and arrange tests and further treatment as required.

Do you provide information on the Prophetic Medicine?

Prophetic Medicine is something which I would encourage, alongside appropriate conventional medical treatment. Articles related to this will be posted in the ‘Scholarly Advice’ section inshaaAllaah.

Can I post these articles on the web or email them out?

Please feel free to post up, email and distribute these articles as you wish. However I would request that you reference them back to tibb.co.

Who runs this website?

I am a qualified medical doctor currently working as a hospital doctor in the Saudi Arabia. All articles on this site are checked by myself, and where needed I have sought advice from competent Muslim medical doctors who have specialised in the relevant field.
